Jury - Scratches on SJTACLE

I've seen more than a few that have little scratches that were there when it arrived from the factory. If it came that way from the factory then technically it is mint. Just think, some screwed up coins that are mint are worth 1000x what the perfect ones are....

Yeah, looking at those scratches, I got a saber grounld FSH last knob creek that had a long scratch down the middle of the blade.. it happens sometimes. I had a SAR5 I sold on the forum about a year ago and the guy demanded a refund because he said the point was blunted... It had been in my safe since knob creek and was just like the day I bought, it... gave him his money back, got it home.. looked at it, didn't see anything wrong with it... sold it next week for $25 more... but yeah, even new blades sometimes have some blemishes..

People sure are gettin picky nowadays :p

Buncha safe queens!

I've got scratches on my Busse folder and I'm fine with it.

Also, once I have handled a knife more than just once upon initial receipt and inspection, I would never advertise it as mint regardless of the condition.

All of these "mint" Busse knives that I have received have oil on the handles. Looks almost like they've all been handled by some sort of greasy animal.

The only real mint is the US MINT. Everything else is just a cheap imitation. Seriously, scratches like that can come from almost anything, even from Busse that way, in which case they fix you up, as the GREAT GARTH has said. That's one of the reason to shop Busse. The second is to get invites to see Oeser's collection.

Well, I think I'm going to send it in to be touched up. As far as the original seller goes, I think the the knie arrived as described, even though the grind marks were'nt mentioned.
Thanks for the opinions and the kind welcome to the forum.
