Just a little OT: need input from experienced hunters

Sure not camo for the human eye. Easy to spot close up, might blend better further away, or like many of the camo's might turn into a dark blob too. But with the right background, it might disappear for a deer. I've got a couple of camo's. Realtree grey and woodland (military). One of the best camo's I seen in the woods is a hawaiin shirt.

I think ANY pattern that breaks up your outline will work, but being still with no camo on at all works fine, too. What I find is really important is hiding your face. After turkey and bowhunting with a facemask, I found that it may be the single most important visual camouflage.

For deer hunting, I worry far more about scent than sight!

Good hunting,

My dad killed over 50 deer in his hunting career. He never wore camo. Always a red leather cap a plaid shirt a dark blue jacket and Kaki pants. Even when safety orange was required he didn't take less game. He knew how to hunt and I learned a lot from him.

My favorite camo for hunting is my pair of German wool trousers (kinda greyish green color). And a Wool shirt in Fall colors plaid. If I need to coat up then I just wear my Capote made from a German Military blanket. It all seems to keep me invisible to both humans and animals as well. However a good bit of bushcraft is involved as well and ya can't buy that off the shelf.

Wild critters that are hard to spot are mostly muted tans, browns, greys. Movement gives them away. Prey animals and ambush carnivores use this to good effect. Silouettes are a tip-off to the seekers.

many states require you to wear orange in firearms seasons so the camo issue more applies to bow hunters than rifle hunters, but the no movement issue is the prime issue in remaining undetected, look at a cat or dog or wild animal how often do they freeze and how hard are they to see when they do so.
