Thanks folks for the kind words. Right now Im working on those that will be handed down.
This may be cheesy to some but I thought I would share.
In the center, the stag 73 serial #10 is mine and my wife's to keep. We were married on the 10th. To the left of it is for Aubrey, my youngest and hopefully one day her children. To the right of the 73 is for my oldest, Adalynn, and hopefully one day her children.
The 81 stockman is serialized 24. The Galvanic 92 is serialized 42 and born of the same month and year as my oldest. Aubrey was born on the second. Adalynn on the 4th. I will have a note prepared to understand the numbers combined are to remember their sisters.
The 81 (a birthday gift from my wife) and ebony 15 are from a true friend whom I respect and not only because he sent these knives back to me. Rockon75 and his gift will certainly be told to my Aubrey on receiving this two. The 81 is certainly one of my favorite patterns and this knife has more of a story than any other. A close second would be the smooth ivory bone 73 that Will Power gifted. I'll never forget the joy in receiving each of those.
The two 73s with a corset shield were born the day my wife and I started dating. I have the two liner locks as well.
The keen kutter and peanut are IMO the perfect small knives to own. I received the Keen Kutter as a gift from Duncan in his sale to raise money for Bob. To me that knife means a lot in more ways than one. The red bone 1965-69 peanut is to balance that as a rare one that hardly gets carried when found new. I believe I am the first to carry it.
Imo the two barlows are the ones to own of my lifetime. These two are my favorites from those runs.
The 77 forum knife is a truely special one to me. I reserve it to be carried when I take Adalynn to St. Jude. When I do, I know there are friends here who are prayer warriors and that gives me strength. The porch does mean something to me and that knife carries that.
I have four more coming from Glenn. These will certainly carry a memory as they represent one of the finest modifiers on the porch, the porch itself, and are patterns I enjoy yet will be unique.
To complete the heirloom set I need one more, but I am reserving that for another serialized 10. Maybe one day I will find it.
There are a couple more not pictured.
Thanks for letting me share a bit of why I have and carry what I do. And why that pic means a bit to me. Maybe one day my girls will find this post.
