Just A Picture - Traditional Picture Show

Great pic John of a great workhorse knife. :)

Gev, what a nice pair. ;) :) I love the fish stamping, it's definitely one that calls to me like the Rose Shields in the Yellow Rose knives do, I love the look of dem fish bones. ;) :)

Thank you! That's an impressive collection you have in your photo!

James Thanks very much, it's a 9cm Fontanille-Pataud in White Bone. The pin arrangement on this Laguiole follows the traditional crucifix pattern, but other forms are common too. It's an unusual Laguiole in that it's a lock-back. Here's the only shot I have of it open (pile side)

I was honoured by the President of the Republic by being created Knight of the White Rose of Finland at our latest Independence Day celebration on 6th December.

Thanks, Will

Thanks Will for showing more of your Laguiole, it is a distinctive and attractive knife!! Congratulations on the honor recently bestowed upon you!! The medal is impressive! I'll research "Knight of the White Lion" it sounds very interesting.

Congratulations Will! That's a fine honour to receive.

And: So my friend, does this now mean you will be able to style yourself Sir Will Power? ;):D:)

Among the knives I returned from Sheffield with, this ebony Lambsfoot is becoming a standout of a pretty good bunch of Wrights. Comfortable in hand, classic lines, clean contrast of ebony, brass 'n' steel, and a firm but civilised pull.

Nice find from an antique shop in Sheffield: a Wostenholm equal end on a single spring, clip main and spey secondary.
