It will sharpen out. If you don’t want to really sharpen just touch it up on a honing rod and it should get it pretty much back to where it was.

Thanks for the reply, most appreciated.

I did straighten it out some on a piece of hardwood. Was an easy roll, not a chip, thank goodness...love D2 and Queens seems to be well done..by Peters?, I think...if I did my homework correctly.

Thank you again, I think that's the best advice..instead of removing material premature..

No problem! I had blade rap on a GEC 43 and just honed it out without a problem (though D2 is a bit harder than 1095 I'm guessing). I did put a nick in my Enzo Birk 75 in D2 once (seems that scandinavian grind with a micro bevel has some trouble with edge retention in D2), and it took more than honing to get it out--but that wasn't from any rap, but accidentally cutting into fencing!

Beautiful crop of Melon and a fine tool for bringing it in!

"Thou talkst of harvest when the corn is green,
The End is the crown of every work well done;
The Sickle comes not till the corn be ripe" Thomas Kyd, The Spanish Tragedy. The character Revenge on being patient:eek: Something all gardeners and farmers know :D

Thanks, Will
Beautiful and Thank you, Will :D

The garden and farm have infinite things to teach if one is alert, quiet, and imbued with the quality of receptivity. God is a wondrous creator; the management is one's own discipline :)

Many things of the past
Are brought to my mind,
As I stand in the garden
Staring at a cherry tree.

I thought of these lines, from Basho's Records of a Travel-worn Satchel, as I stood in my old parents' garden, looking at this piece of timber from a tree I remember well from my childhood...

Having been away from my knives for almost two weeks and leaving again for another week, I pulled out my favorites last night to mess around with before I put them away. Having them together tells me I need to get a patina back on my Churchill and get one going on the new boy's knife.
