Just A Picture - Traditional Picture Show

Beautiful image, Alan ! I'm curious as to what changes you made? What is your usual camera settings?
I normally take my photos on my window sill to utilize the light without the sun. Northern or overcast suits me best.
One of my knives developed a pin crack so I relocated my storage to a walk-in closet that has a different temperature humidity index.
So, as long as they were there I used a bounce flash and an incandescent white balance setting on the camera. It worked on this shot but I'll have to see if I lose any of the richness that natural light provides.

Thanks and I look forward to your conclusions !

Your images shine in any light.

Thank you.
Gevonovich Gevonovich Here are two photos of the same knife, shell and background. The first is by natural light and the second is by bounced flash.
The background color is not truly accurate in either photo. The shell is more accurate in the natural light. The knife (both the stag and the steel) although more pleasing to my eye in the natural light is more accurate by the flash. As I used to say when I was in academia, more work needs to be done.

Thanks for the comparison shots. My eye is gravitating to shell and steel in natural light, but my emotions are soothed by the flash rendition. Yes, more play is in order.

Thanks Harry but I doubt I'd have an interest in the stag knives I've collected if it wasn't for the photos you've posted. Don't be so modest.
I appreciate your very kind words my friend . I am very happy to be an Enabler though . The Stag knives that you have are incredible and you can count on being an Enabler for people with them too .

Harry
