This pic deserves to be on this page too. Awesome pair Jim!!

Thanks Brian! I remember a conversation we had maybe a year ago about the ideal Monarch. This one is definitely it for me.

I can see that being your fav, Beautiful BC Jr also. I may have changed my mind since then...I's been one insane year for me and I can't remember for sure now... But I know I want that grind style for sure... with either an Osage or maybe a curly oak handle,...or a natural un-dyed wood of some sort anyway :) .

If I remember correctly, which might be asking for a lot, we were both looking for a Monarch with a nice un-dyed wood handle. The BC Jr was my first Masur Birch knife and I plan on acquiring several more. :D

Btw, VANCE VANCE . Do you know if the Masur Birch is stabilized? It kinda looks like it but it doesn't feel like it.

That’s a good looking spread! I like the knife too ;).

It has taken some doing to get the project back up and running. I had to get past the divorce and feel like Alayna was in a good place emotionally. Then I had to get further into the process of my leg healing and be able to walk enough to at least get some work done here and there and work clearing parts of my former life out of my home to even start feeling artistic again. But I was glad to see i had my artistic head back last week when i had to go find another butcher when I found my limit with my old one. The nutshell version is that I had in an order for a few pounds of un-sliced bacon. Nothing new, been buying it from him for almost four years and he knows I use it for work as well as home. I'm not sure if his new found authority in being made meat dept manager has gone to his head or if his new income has led to drug use or what, but he has changed since we met a few years ago. He has been taking my orders down and then just blowing them off or forgetting all together. So...after the third batch of my bacon being left out for me by his assistant I asked Heather what was up. So she wrote a note on a 8.5 x 11 inch sheath of printer paper in red sharpy and taped it to his bundle of pork bellies. He must have gotten mad about the red ink and decided to either get mad or play a prank on me. He actually took fresh sliced bacon, which he knew very well I did not want, wrapped it up, then shaped and formed into a tight rectangle and chilled in the freezer to feel just like unsliced pork belly and he had his assistant give it to me. She thought it was unsliced too, as it looked and felt like whole pork belly. I had already spent the money on setting everything else up for a photo shoot for an article I am working on, then opened the bacon to slice with the knife and found what was really there, and realized what he had done. I guess maybe the stress had built up for a while and needed a release so I took it back there, threw it into the meat dept and said if this isn't fixed immediately I'm done with this meat dept. Heather looked at it, got a funny look on her face and said matt will be back tomorrow there is nothing I can do. I complained to the owner, found what I needed at another store and haven't been back there since. The knife is amazing :)

So it's early, I've just started the first cup off coffee and was doing catch-up on this thread. Looking at Pert's pic above yours I have Sylvrfalcen in my mind, then I scroll down and the lines don't look right but my brain saw a yellow handled Sylvrfalcen and then it said "What the hell is the one below it? That must be really small?" Maybe I need to get to bed earlier?? :)
