i notice most knife forums do not have a bayonet section , this forum follows that observation , you even have a "kitchen Knife" section , is there a disdain among knife collectors/enthusiasts that i do not see ?
honest question , not trying to pick at a scab if there is one , ive only been serious and actively been building my knife collection for a few years , but have been accumulating Bayonets since the 80's specific to firearms i own/collect as accessories only really up until i caught the knife bug , when i started collecting knives i sort of ramped up interest in bayonets as well
what got me interested in knives was when my grandmother passed about 15 years ago my mom came across a old knife that was my grandfathers while sorting her estate , he passed back in the early 60's while i was still making boom boom in my short pants , she gave it to me and i stuffed it in the filing cabinet i keep such things and never gave it another thought until one day i was going through everything cleaning and oiling , inspecting , ect and i became intrigued while servicing it , a old Western fixed blade , while researching it the tang stamp puts production 1935-1950 , which tracks , he passed and she must have tucked it away never seeing light until my mother grabbed it
so i am fairly new to knives , why no love for Bayo's , to me they are a extension of any knife as are swords which there also is a section
