  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Just a thought... A non inlaid mnandi..

Just imagine above mnandi with the same grooves as the umnumzaan... I think that would look sweet!

You're killing me here...

That Umnandi is awesome!

The idea itself would be really cool. The Mnandi is already skinny, and getting rid of the inlays would make it significantly skinnier. The only downside is I know I'd keep feeling my pocket to make sure it's still there because it'd be impossible to tell otherwise :p

Only one way to remedy that, thicker titanium!

I think CRK should make a BF special. Like the above Umnandi...or may I suggest Daima (meaning "always" or some other Zulu word representing EDC) ;)

Maybe he'd do it if enough people were interested.... *nudge*

Fferrell1, that is awesome! :D

:cool::thumbup:

I personally think simpler is better, the only thing I don't like about the Umnumzaan is the handle texturing. I'm not fond at all of adding stuff that doesn't need to be there. A Manadi based on the Sebenzas styling would be much more to my tastes.
A Mnandi made out of Ti stock that was the same as the original width without the inlay would be my choice I think. It would indeed be very thin and light but still quite Manadi-ish. If one used thicker Ti stock, like that on the small Sebenza, the thin blade might not look right. If you make the blade ticker then it's starting to move well away from what a Mnandi is supposed to be. If thicker stock was used there is always the choice of doing some clever machining/chamfering to help disguise the real thickness of the handles and lock bar next to the blade.......

......but we are dreaming, it's never going to happen. :D

This is true.
BUT, as you say, one can dream.

Never say never. Just look at the Insingo and CF Sebenza, dreams do come true.

It is an interesting idea, but I really like the inlays. I have wanted one with heat colored timascus inlays though.
