I have been lurking around this sub forum for awhile enjoying all the great pictures and trying to pick up on some much needed outdoors skills......I have made a couple of posts in this forum now so I thought it might be time to introduce myself! My name is Bobby, I am about to graduate college and have a job lined up as a Police Officer with one of the larger cities in NC. This means I will be getting some extra $ to buy a little gear and start hitting the trails! Well thats probably enough for now, look forward to learning a few things from all you great guys over here!

Welcome aboard, Bobby. There is a great mix of people here who are very helpful.

Heck, they even tolerate me.

Welcome aboard, I live in NC also, well, most of the time. Right now I am in the beautiful country of South Korea and will be here till Jan 2011.

Lots of great guys here and an awesome place to learn, just keep a tight hold on your billfold, I have found you can go broke "just looking". :D Chris

Welcome aboard...there really is a great crew on this particular forum. This is a great resource to learn, bounce ideas off of and share common interests. Looking forward to your input,

ROCK6

Okay, Bobby, I wasn't entirely accurate. Yes, this is a great place, with great, helpful people.

The part that wasn't entirely accurate was that they even tolerate me. What I should have said is that some of them almost tolerate me, sometimes, if I send them my "tolerance" payments on time every month.:D

Anyway, welcome aboard (again).

Welcome aboard Bobby! I'm Brian and glad to have the likes of you added to our team! Enjoy the ride!

On the gear note. Try as much recycling and DIY as you're able. It seems to be a common theme amongst us all these days. This forum has a way of encouraging your wallet to empty itself without your consent. I have since put my wallet into solitary and have stripped it of all privileges. Careful of that!

Already trying my hand at the can stoves that I have seen in this forum! It's amazing what can be converted into something handy! It's equally amazing (for my wallet) that I can hold off that much longer on getting a camp stove!

Congratulations on school. So are you headed to the police academy after graduation?

Yep! I have a little bit of time off before the Academy starts...long enough for me to find an apartment and get settled!

Welcome Bobby, Great to meet ya. This is a pretty cool place.
Congrats on your new job.

Take care and chat with you later,

Bryan

Welcome to the W&SS section Bobby! Always good to have another fellow outdoors enthusiast on board!

I have friends in the academy here now...and some that just got out not too long ago. I hear that whole "being-shot-with-a-tazer-thing" is loads of fun ;)
