Hey y'all,

Just wanted to share this to the RAT Forum and give an update on this little project:

A couple of weeks back I had an RC-3MIL purchased and engraved at Kniveworks for my nephew currently serving in Afghanistan.

Here's the old thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=689849

Had it ready and shipped right on the last cut-off date for (my nephew) to get it by X-mas. Hopefully he'll send some action pics.

He got it on Christmas Eve and his platoon sgt was so impressed/jealous he's going to consider getting the entire platoon RATs (probably RC-3MILs) with markings and nics.

Here's my nephew's reply:

"haha...ya igot it....on christmas eve....when my plt sgt saw it he completely lost his <...>....it was funny...hes like...dude u got a rat knife...now hes ordering the same ones for the whole plt...engraving it as the plt knife...so now everyone in the plt is gonna have one...lol"

So Jeff, you may get a call or an e-mail from someone from the Army inquiring about placing an order :)

Love it! Thanks for sharing and give your nephew a big THANKS for his service!

Thanks to your nephew for his duty, and tell him he's lucky to have a switched-on platoon Sgt...

blake

That's fantastic! Have been trying to decide what knife to get my BIL who's deploying to Iraq soon and the RC3-mil is at the top of my list! Thanks for the update!

What about setting up a charity or program to send a RAT to a soldier as an ongoing thing for the forum. Maybe we could get service members' names and then you could send them an Izula or whatever and in return they could maybe send us a pic showing it in service...it would make for some great stories and happy soldiers I would imagine...when my buddy was serving that would have thoroughly brightened his day.

Just a thought.

thats not a bad idea captain. i know when i was over in iraq and afghanistan there wasn't anything much better than getting a care package and to get one w/ a rat in it would have been awesome. i don't make a lot of money unfortunately but i would be down to throw in a couple bucks to help out
