Ain't gonna type much of a description, because my hands are slap wore out from doing this today, plus the pics pretty much speak for themselves. Did the convex edge the same way Virtuovice did it, except I started with 400 grit and kept it wet. Virtuovice started with what looks like 100 or 180 grit, so he got the strip job done quicker. Didn't use any chemicals this time. Just sanded the coating off, working the convex as I went. Sanded to 1500 grit and then used a polish wheel loaded with white Dico, and then a light hand-polish with a semi-chrome type of polish.

Enjoy!

WOW!!!!!

Oh, my goodness, Blues, this is not "just another BK2 blah, blah" thread, that is some very, very good work.

That blade looks freakin' awesome. I might have to send you one of mine. Man, that is a sharp (pun intended) looking knife.

Great work, something to be very proud of.

Looks really nice Blues. I'll bet your hands are sore.

extremely excellent :> Ethan is still away, but he'd be quite pleased with this i can guess

I wanted to do something like this too. It's just too much work. Huge kudos to you for going all the way, especially with the polish. Very nice.

Awesome looking knife and sheath. You should be proud of the work you did.

Looks great ! Nice combo with that sheath too.

Diggin' that two tone blade. Good job.

We need a mod hall of fame, I found an inductee! Damn fine work there for sure!

Wow, thanks for all the great feedback everyone. Glad you like it. Next up is some gimping. Might polish the spine all the way around too. Haven't decided yet, but I'm definitely going to keep the blade two-tone. I'd seen a couple or three others done that way, including Virtuovice's, and that was the plan from the start.

So what do y'all think? Polish the spine and between the handles or not?

I wouldn't. It's nice to have the coating around the grip as to not worry about rust and polishing the spine would look weird with the two tone blade IMO.

I was hoping to achieve that same look by just using mine constantly -- but that makes me want to go strip it now! Very nice.

I say go for the spine. I did a Busse like that and I really liked the polished spine look - and it goes a lot faster than polishing the blade.

Either way -- looking good.
