Just Another BK2 Strip, Polish & Convex Mod

It seems my polish job and the pics are fairly well thought of. Thanks for that. Don't mean to be pretentious, but I used one of my favorites out of the above pics to make a couple of wallpaper versions, and if'n y'all like 'em, you're welcome to 'em. These two are 1024 x 640 housed on Photobucket. If you've got a laptop, that resolution ought to work fine. The originals are done in 1680 x 1050 though, for my Desktop PC, and I can't upload 'em to Photobucket at that size. If you want them, just email me (addy in my profile) and I'll send 'em to you. Otherwise, enjoy, and here ya go:

Wow! Great convex and polish job. I can't wait to get my BK2. I too was inspired by virtuovice, and I loved this knife long before.

Wow... See blades like this make Me wanna get back in the shop and work on making something just in that ballpark. Man u set the bar, beautiful blade

Nice to see an old thread get bumped up, that people get to enjoy that didn't get a chance to see it the first time.

Awesome work! The two-tone blade gives the knife a unique contrast. I can't wait to get my own BK2 (holding out for Xmas) and mod it. I was thinking of doing a full polish, but the two-tone blade gives me something else to think about. :)

Very cool! Makes me want to sand mine down again. I stripped mine with an orbital sander but it scratched more than I wanted. Then I used some gun blue on it and micarta scales. Have you thought about a new set of scales?

Man I sanded my BK9 with 1000 grit and never got it close to shiny. That blade is awesome, great work. Could you tel me what type of polish you used? I really wanted to add a semi chrome look to another knife I'm working on.

Gotta love it when old threads get brought back.

Did you only use 1000 grit or did you go up through the grits?
If you want to get rid of the scratch pattern and have a nice even polish, you have to start low and move up through the grits as the previous grit scratch pattern is removed.
Hope that helps.
