Just another Izula... Or is it?

That looks really good. What method did you use to remove the coating on the knife? I have been thinking about getting one and doing that. I'm kinda lazy though and was wondering if a stripping solvent would work to save myself all the sanding.

I did use spray stripper on the finish on a Condor Hudson Bay and it melted right off but I suspect the finish on an ESEE might be a bit tougher.

A good paint a finish remover or paint stripper takes the coating right off...

Ok, a little update. My next step was I convexed the edge and then took it out and went to town on some wood for a while to see how the patina would hold up after the convexing and cutting cutting cutting. Held up pretty well! The tiger stripe is less pronounced now after a day of thrashing but I still like it. The jury is still out on the convex edge. I think I like the original bevel better, but I'm still playing with it. After some time on the strop I might fall in love with convex, who knows? In the mean time I'm lovin' my old beat up Izula.

PS. Tonight I'm drinkin beer...Yep, I'm a lush.
