Just ate my first MRE...

Y'all reminded me of somethin'.

Last time I got to JRTC / Ft. Polk we were cautioned to expend all heaters. Seems that the landfill caught fire from the 1,000s that get thrown away daily during a rotation. So they always had to be watered after that.

BTW, we were guarding the LOG TOC in the box - and kicked some butt. The hi speed OPFOR got slowed down when they met the old hillbillies from Missouri (and the gunner at the Hospital next door shot down his second heli just to start their disaster.)

If you ever get a chance to go - do it! You will learn from your mistakes without getting really dead.

A four letter word!! The landfill didn't burn, the place is hell.

I was there and all it did was rain. 2 feet of mud everywhere.

Thanks for the info, guys--glad to hear I was not just being paranoid. I will use it before disposing of it.

well, unless you're throwing away MANY heaters at a shot, it shouldn't cause a build up of heat resulting in a fire
still, it doesn't hurt to be careful

thanks for the link, paul :)
