just got back from WAR up at Marty Simon's place a little while ago.

AMAZING!!!

it was great. the camaraderie, the food, the blades, it was all fantastic.

the generosity of everyone there astounded me.

i have my first two bark river knives, one on my belt and one next to me waiting for a 9 micron sharpening belt. they feel even better when i own one than when i'm handling someone else's

i got alot of great feedback on an incredible range of different topics and questions.

i found out that S7 can really take a beating.

i don't have any pictures, my camera died a few weeks ago, but hopefully everyone will be along shortly with plenty.

i'm surprised that there aren't pics up already by the people that left yesterday.

anyways, an incredible weekend and i must extend my thanks to Marty and every single person that was there for a fantastic learning experience and the great times had by me and everyone else.

sounds like a great time. congrats on the bark river knives, i still need to buy one(or like eight) of those.

i won one in the raffle giveaway, but it wasn't really what i would use, so i traded it for a mikrocanadian II.

great tiny knife and it has been on my belt since. i love it so far. i batoned with it, cooked with it, and used it to slice wood. so far its great.

Holy crap - that dog standing next to the fire looks like a small bear

I'm back too. Had a great time and I'm glad everyone is O.K. Even those traveling down Rt. 87. I'm happy to have shared all the time around the fire with all you fantastic folks and I thank you for all the generosity. Can't wait for the next one!

Garrett,

Did you hear about Lee and Patty? They're fine. I'll tell you in an E-mail.
