Just Because Give Away

20130419_103932.jpg

This Moose has been with me since it arrived.
My favorite cover material today is jigged bone.
I'm going with spear for blade.
Depending on shape I use it for everything!

Thanks so much!

currently i believe my TL-29 (camillus) is my most carried. (although i've been neglecting it for a while now)
my favorite blade shape would have to be spear point. and my favorite cover material is Ebony (for now, but bone is also quite nice)
oh and as for what i use the particular blade shape for... cutting things :D

Thanks for the chance!
Scott.

Thanks for the chance. My most carried slip joint is a boker mini stockman, used for fixing ball marks when golfing and misc edc type cutting. Been wanting a larger stockman for carry when I'm in the woods doing forestry type stuff. Fav handle is wood, typically light staining stuff, but I do have a weaken for walnut. I like clip and spearpoints best. Good luck to all.

Hey Lenny, nice idea for a contest; thanks for the opportunity.
My most-carried slipjoint is likely my 2009 BFC stag barlow. The D2 steel is just the best I've ever tried, the handle covers are good looking, the build quality, well... Queen did a bang-up job on this one! And, between the clip blade and the wharncliffe, there's not much this one can't do.
Favorite cover material is a nice, dark, jigged bone, dyed some sort of warm color (a red, orange, brown, something like that).
My favorite blade shape, just for its appearance, is a spear point. I like the symmetry of it, and find it just as handy as a clip blade. After all, most clip blades are just spearpoints with a chunk taken out of the top... ;)
And finally, I use it for just about anything that needs to be cut. In my work, I have lots of uses for a pocket knife: stripping wires, cutting insulation and tape and the like, trimming bits of wood and plastic to fine-tune the surrounding area when I install a new piece of gear, making my lunch during the work day... You name it!
Here's the barlow in question, in case anyone doesn't know what it looks like.

- your most carried slipjoint
- your favorite handle material
- your favorite blade shape
- your main use for that blade

Since I've gotten it, it's been a SAK Farmer, it's just so handy, but not bulky like a leatherman. I've used the awl quite a bit.
Stag
No favorite, but I find the clip to be the most useful.
Probably cutting packages, but it's just a good all purpose design.

Most Carried: it currently is a tie between my case yellow peanut and my chestnut mini trapper, one, the other or both are always in reach. two bladed jack patterns are my favorite cause many are slim and small yet carry the right blades for most everything id need a knife
Favorite handle material: for several years iv had a yellow handle case (as apparent by the peanut) but have started to appreciate some of the other materials out there, such as jigged bone which makes a wonderful texture to feel.
Favorite blade and main use: as much as i love variety, i would say the clip has a special place in my heart (or pocket). one of the better blade types from cleaning fish to cleaning nails (so long properly sanitized in between those times), fortunately cause of the spey on the trapper and pen on the peanut, food, work/recreation, and grooming are all under a respected blade. if could only have one blade though for rest of life, would be a clip in the pattern of a dogleg.
thanks for the opportunity to win such a knife, looks like it can get stuff done for good chunk of my life!

My Case/Bose Lanny's Clip has been with me almost every day since I got it back in November. Just love the overall presentation, with Chestnut bone, 154CM, stainless bolsters, and the nicely-ground clip blade.

I've been really digging jigged bone, lately, and prefer a pocket-worn feel, with no really crisp ridges.

Even though I carry a clip blade, I've been into the wharncliff on the 2012 BF Traditional knife. That needle tip is excellent, and the shape is just sexy. But, favorite is probably a Loveless-style drop point, with a high hollow grind to the top edge, and no swedge.

I use my blades mostly for food prep at lunch, as in slicing apples and oranges. Secondary is kitchen food prep, mainly veggies and sometimes raw meat.

Awesome Giveaway! Thanks, from another old-timer (14 years here at BFC!)
