I wanted something different from my Surefires and needed something compact, so I picked up a LD10(AA) for pocket carry. Anybody have one of these?

I EDC a P2D cree edition and it's great. About as large as I'd go for pocket carry, but it offers great versatility. Long battery life on the low mode, and high power modes that match the output of much larger flashlights (Surefire G2 for example) when it's needed.

No LD10, but I have the PD30 and PD20, which are the 2 and 1 cell 123a Lithium cell lights, a P3D and a TK11.

So be careful... They're addicting!

I guess the PD20 is closest to the LD10 in size, and it's near perfect for pocket carry. A little wide, maybe.

xdshooter, the beam throw on the TK11 is pretty impressive, and it's built like a tank. I recommend it!

Yeah, i keep hearing about how much you guy's like these lights and figured it was time to try one. I normally stuff one of my G2's in my coat pocket for the bus ride into town for work, but I wanted something a little smaller but powerfull. The single AA battery power source has intrigued me also. Everything else I have is powered by CR123's.

Got myself a L1T V2.0 Q2 a while back. Use it mostly as a helmet light for mountain biking as well as commuting. Works great. It doesn't see EDC since I don't care for the 'bat belt' look and its a little large for my preference for pocket carry. Got myself an older Fenix E1 with a SSC P4 (U2SVOH) swapped in there. VERY nice for pocket carry. I keep finding myself tempted to switch over to my E01 with GS led, but the beam quality is so much nicer out of the E1.

Oh, I forgot the mention the durability. After going on 10 months of constant use, it still looks basically new! Now, I do store it in the belt case and put that in my pack, but still... Its seen some really ba weather and some really hrash trails.

I have an LD10 and it stays on my hip,it's surprising how much I use it,especially with these old eyes of mine:rolleyes:-only thing I don't like is no warning before the battery dies--Regards Butch

With Surefire having another price hike I think more will be finding the Fenix line very inviting. TK10 in use here...

fenix is extremely good bang for the buck. They are whupping surefire.

I'm looking forward to a LD10 and the new stainless steel piston drive light as well from Fenix

I'm just not a huge fan of cycling through modes like that. Absolutely love the UI on my L1T (tighten head for high loosen for low, tailcap clicky on/off) as well as my single-mode E1 (as E01). I've had other lights with multi-mode drivers and I just don't care for it, too much headache... Even my E2L KX2, while an awsome light, the cycling via tailcap clicky is annoying...

I've been a Surefire guy for years, but I'm a flashlight freak at heart and will give others a try as well. So far I've got a couple of Fenix P1's (old and new versions), an E01, and an L0D with SL Microstream body/switch because I hated the multi-function twisty switch. I generally like a simple one or two level light without a lot of extra "features" and complication to my lights, so much of the Fenix line does not appeal to me.

i have an od l2d and i intended to keep it in the car/jacket but its so slim i often keep it in my left front and dont even notice it. pleasant suprise

Recieved my new LD10 in the mail today and I have to say that I am very impressed.I also, only used Surefire products but I think this will not be my last Fenix. The f/f is outstanding, you get used to the multiple brightness selections and this light will serve it's edc purpose.

I would be glad to support Surefire more if they could innovate beyond the CR123 cells they desperately cling to. That being said, I've owned several Fenix lights, with my newest being the LDO1 SS, which is quite simply phenomenal. I'm getting way sick of their scratch magnet black anodizing though.

They have a number of lights in Natural... My E1 has held up fantastic to pocket carry.

I happen to like the fact SF sticks to 123's. As nice a rechargables are, going li-ion introduces a lot of concerns, and I do not favor them as a go-to cell. I have a few lights using AW cells without any problems, but I do not favor them because of 1) ability to scavenge cells is very very low 2)One does not want to fully discharge the cells 3)My understanding is that after a few years, regardless of use, li-ion tends to suffer greatly reduced capacity and safety.

So far I'm very happy running NiMH for my rechargable needs, mostly Duracell LSD for EDC/bike lighting.

This is my first Fenix/ AA powered light, what do you guys recommend as to what brand/kind of battery to use.

About half of my EDC is an LD10; the rest of the time its an LD20. And a Fenix E01 is always on my keys.

I feed them Eneloops.

Little hint, that I figured out recently after 5 days with no electricity. Use the lowest output level that will do the job, which extends battery life. Duh. :)

For some time now, Fenix has been my favorite manufacture. Not much to find fault with.
