  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Just bought myself a present

that is a nice piece but considering you don't go for anything more elaborate knife wise than a mora and machete i'm a little shocked:D

just kidding ya

Good point, :o perhaps the mora and machete lets me afford fusil fins and not just fusils. ;) :D Chris

Chris,
a most excellent choice. I think you will be most pleased with this piece. Mine is not the same maker or the Fin model - but my fusil de chasse has been my sole hunting piece for years. A joy to shoot and also tote - you will especially like the sling mounts! Enjoy

I have a pedersoli double 20 that I have been using for a few years but the lines of the classic French flinters have been whispering to me for a while. Finally decided to take the plunge, I can't wait to try it out. The chasse was actually what I was shopping for but this was what was available so there you go. Chris

Very nice. Now I'm looking forward to more pics and stories starring the Fusil Fin.

Go for it Mike, it is loads of fun, sure gives you respect for the old days. Chris

right on Chris... that is the reason why i hunt/shoot with a longbow..:D one of these days i'll get one.. my wife's stepdad used to shoot a lot of black powder and is in the process of building a nice rifle..:)

Hey AW/RB/Chris (), crossada definitely has a point. In my case I don't buy guns, so I feel justified in treating myself to a little pretty steel, every once in awhile. :D

Nice looking piece, though.

Doc

(Actually to 'fess up, I have a couple of pieces coming in the mail, right now :o )

As I admitted to. What can I say, different strokes and all that, I still don't own a custom knife. I do enjoy the knives I do own and I enjoy the out of doors, I guess I am just a reverse knife snob. :D Chris

Wow, very nice.

I've been looking at Track of the Wolf for a few years now, I spent about an hour on the site tonight before I saw this thread. I'm seriously thinking of building a Southern Mountain or maybe an Isaac Haines in iron furniture.

I've been shooting the stuff since the early 70s.

That is my next project, building one myself, probably be a couple of years down the road though. I have been looking at a southern poor boy rifle myself. I have a good round ball gun right now, I have killed a lot of game with it and it is a real tack driver but in percussion, thinking about flint now. Chris

EDIT: Hushnel, have you looked at TVM, Tennessee Valley Muzzleloaders, Got some great guns and are really nice people to work with.
