Just Chipped my Brand New NMSFNO... Advice/Suggestions Requested

Lol, smart a**.

You completely exaggerated and used the term adamantium to describe it.

Have you not seen the knife destruction tests on youtube? It's ridiculously durable. The guy hasn't tested anything like that before. I don't get it.

He says it's 'clearly' a chip, rather than a chip. We will have to wait and see I guess.

Sorry man,

Ever since that post in the Hogzilla thread about "how ridiculously over priced" Busse knives are, and how they must be dipped in platinum to be worth the money, I read all your posts with a sarcastic tone to them.

LOL. I'm not allowed to joke around here? Don't worry about it haha, all in good fun.

Sorry in advance about the photography but I think a couple of these pics show that it is a chip rather than a dent. Again as I said in my previous post it is much more visible in person, and you can catch your fingernail in the spot.

if you need more I can take some

I would try steeling that out, looks minor.:p Were you using a chopping block?

Doesn't look fatal from what I can tell, I would try sharpening it out and beating on it again.

It's not normal at all. The only thing I've ever seen chip INFI are nails. I've hit rocks, steel, batoned recklessly through super hard knots in logs (and the latter did nothing but to slightly dull the edge), and never seen anyhting buy slight rolling of the edge. It doesn't sound right me at all. I've taken the knives everywhere and done everything with them, and can tell you, first-hand, that INFI is the best steel I've ever used for a hard use knife. If what you are saying is true, then the knife is not right. The great thing is, it will almost certainly be replaced for free. No worries.

Wow, I typed this up before I saw the picture. TS, that is not "chipping", it is very slight edge deformation at the thinnest, sharpest point of the edge. It's nothing. You must have hit a tough spot and caused a little damage to the thin factory edge. Sharpen or steel it out, man. It's absolutely nothing to be concerned about, and certainly is not chipping.

Thanks guys maybe I'm just overreactig, it being my first Busse and all, but definitely not my last.

Generally speaking, if it's a very thin edge, that's gonna happen. It would sharpen-out almost instantly.

Who knows, maybe it is indicative of a larger problem, which is why I recommend steeling it out and beating on it again.

The issue may not come back but regardless the warranty isn't going anywhere and you get the side benefit of beating on it!

Send the knife in. . . .We'll test it. . . . We'll replace it, if need be. . . . We'll try to stay sober enough to ship it to the right address this time. . . . all is well . . . . .

No worries. . . .

Let's Drink!!!
