BuckKnifeCollection.jpg

william I think this is what you were thrying to post.

great collection by the way. I have wanted a 119 forever but never bought one

William, just in case you are baffled by this......if you click on "reply with quote" on hughewil's post, you will be able to see how he cleaned up and reposted your image.

You can see that you had extra stuff at the beginning and end and he just copied and pasted the portion that was needed while eliminating the extra stuff.

Cool! I too have always wanted a 119, it seems it is what many believe to be the quintessential hunting knife. At least from it's use in movies it is. (I think it's a 119 in Scream 2 that get's plunged through the guys head from the stall next door in the bathroom.)

All the way through a guy's head???!!!

Seems like it would take a 120 for that.

:D

The picture is a bit hard to see suspecifics, they appear to be mixed years? Nice collection non the less.

I suppose that 105 is the one Buck gave you?

Nice looking display.

Thanks for sharing.

Tell us a little about your writing, if you would. What topics did you mostly cover?

That's a great collection and thanks for sharing it with us.Honestly for the money I don't believe there's a better fixed blade than the Buck 119.

Hey guys, thanks for all the nice comments. Sorry I did not get the picture posted in the beginning but HUHEWIL got it done for me. No, the knife from Buck was the 121 Fisherman. My name is on the handle. Yes, the small cards give a brief description of the knives, when production started and when it ended if it did end. I was a sports writer while going to college for a daily newspaper in Michigan. Later I became the Sports Editor and then changed jobs and became the Editor of Michigan Out-of-Doors magazine. Did all sorts of stories featuring the outdoors, environment, conservation, etc. I finally turned my hobby, cutting rocks and gems, into a business and became a jeweler. Now am retired to the sun in Florida.

Seems to me there's still a story here, William.

I don't think you've shared exactly how Buck came to give you a knife and why they gave it to you.

Why did they choose a 121 and what material was used to put your name on the handle?

I was attending the National Outdoor Writers conference in Minnesota and Buck was one of the display companies. They gave me a choice and I choose the Fisherman. Not sure why or how they did the name on the handle, but it impressed me at the time. It was years later that I began collecting, actually since I retired. I now regularly attend nearby gun and knife shows. You can email me at tooline@goprimecast.com. I find emailing much easier than this and also easier to send along pictures. By the way, what is the difference between a Gold Member and a Registered Member?

Gold members have a paid membership. One of the benefits is being able to attach files...pics. Registered members must use a photo host web site to create links to pics.

Also a paid membership allows you to sell knives in the Exchange forum as well as us the private message feature, plus it supports the site.

Welcome to the forums, great bunch of knives
That is the 5th Buck knife that I have seen engraved from Buck with the
persons name on it.The others are James Drury,Doug McClure,
and an unknown( to me ) actor from " The Virginian".Pg.54 The Story of Buck Knives
by Tom Ables, if anyone might know. All on Buck 122's
Peter H. Capstick on a Buck 124 .

Well, Bill.....you have a treasure in that 121, that's for sure.

Stick around, that whole thing with posting pictures gets easier once you do a few. We have a few more Buck collectors in Florida. Maybe they'll chime in and say Howdy.
