Now off to the shop, to make it my own.
have some brown micarta from a botched project I can save.

BK-14 with micarta would be killer! Come to think of it...I don't know if I've ever seen micarta on a 14...

Not real happy how the handles turned out. I used machine screws and Lock nuts, they were all I had laying around.
Any suggestions on other mounting hardware, should I make another set.

BTW this sheath is dulling my hair splitting edge. boooo

6-32 x 3/8ths for the stock zytel scales but 6-32 x 1/2 is the one I use for my own 11/14 scales.

I was thinking for the next set, cutting the head off of a chicago screw and using the threads for an adapter between the machine screws so both sides will have screws turned into the "theaded" tube that is in the middle. I think that will give a clean look.

Don't play around with hardware. Go straight to usaknifemaker.com or knifekits.com and get the 1/4" stainless threaded barrels with 8/32 screws. You will not regret it, I use them on all my micarta and G10 projects.

If you want to go permanent, 1/8 inch brass rod and epoxy is a very strong and good looking way to attach handle scales.

Take 2

Used cap screws and an aluminum threaded spacer thanks Ray Settanta. I still need to replace the screws with ones that have not been ground on. Also thinking about a lanyard hole.

How do they feel????......they are looking good....

Ethan

Thank You!
They feel pretty good in my hand. I left them pretty rough and the canvas micarta is really tacky. They may be a little thick yet I may address that when I counter sink the screw heads.

Thanks for the link. I was not sure what I was looking at while trying to find hardware. So I went with what I knew.
