Just curious: Any good brick and mortar shops that sell forum fixed-blade favorites?

Seems like everyone here loves Busse, Swamp Rat, Himalayan Imports, etc....

Are these only available via the internet? Or has anyone actually seen these sold in a brick and mortar store?

Obviously good names like Spyderco, Kershaw and Benchmade all make folders that can be seen in brick and mortar shops. But I've never seen high quality forum-favorite fixed blades like HI kukris, Busse, Swamp Rat, etc.

I wouldn't say everyone here loves them. Maybe that's the impression you get if you go to the HI or Bussekin forums.

Anyway, there are plenty of stores that carry high end knives, and I'll bet that out of those, at least a few carry Bussekin stuff and various other high end fixed blades. I'm not sure about HI, they seem to be a lot less common.
Forum rules say that I can't mention any dealers who don't pay off BF. So if you're just looking for a yes or no answer, then you got one. If you want names of specific stores, you're out of luck.

So if I ask... "Who sells xxx in my location?" nobody can answer? ..... lame. Hopefully that's an unintended consequence of BF trying to fight spam and astro-turfing.

I really like this place, and if they want to treat the average poster that when then well.. it's a big internet.

I have never seen any of these in a physical store. Nor Condor, Bark River, ESEE, Becker, Mora, Queen...

Not around here.

There's a special forum section for discussing dealers, "The Good the Bad and the Ugly." There's also a list somewhere of recommended dealers who support BladeForums.

So it's lame because you don't understand the reason for the rules in place?
It's an unintended consequence of people shilling for people on the backs of those that do pay to support the forums, without paying members this place wouldn't be here. Another thing, how are people supposed to uess your location as you've conveniently chosen to not mention it as well as not list it in your profile. As another mod said recently, we don't have crystal balls, big balls yes, but not crystal ones.

Out of the three local stores near me, all three carry Bark River and some other "off brands" you might not expect to see even in a knife store. Cabelas or Bass Pro might carry something Dicks Sporting Goods might not touch with a ten foot pole. One local store near me, Edgeworks, carries a lot of custom and semi custom knives, like Fallkniven, Chris Reeve and Bark River. Country Knives carries a fair selection of Bark River. Willey Knives carries more of the Ontario and ESEE selections. I believe all three have Condor. It all depends on where you go. Everyone will carry Buck knives, most knife shops will have Case and Spyderco, but you have to ask. I've seen flea market dealers with high end custom knives before, and el cheapo junkers.
