just curious how many females post here

Did a moderator tell you that Cockroachfarm, or did a member here. If it was a moderator, you could still ask Spark about this issue. Community is pretty well moderated, KV is nuts, but he does keep track of Community, if he was told it was a problem, he would've caught this thread by now. I don't see any harm in the question, but then again, it isn't my forum.

As for knife carry, I am a 50 year old woman from Indiana and carry an Mtech :D.

Well I've been around a while and since my daughter turned sophmore this year she's been working in the forge at her high school, works in the shop for me and Paul and aspires to be a maker. She's a sword-person though and collects a lot.

(this is the kind of thread I had envisioned when I posted the question originally.)

At the time, I hadn't been here long enough that I thought I should argue its validity.

From the replies so far, maybe times/attitudes HAVE changed. We can hope. Again, sorry for the hijack.

don't let me fool you
I'm in it for all the wild sex that goes on around here you know ;) :D

I don't see anything wrong with the question, its tone or the issue of users disclosing their gender. If a female user does not want to reply she doesn't have to. It's not as if this counts towards anything with respect to numbers of men vs. women so I don't see a problem?

I'm a female, but most people here consider me one of the boys. I got into knives when I worked at Spyderco. Then I got fired, but I still love knives.

Okay. Present here and how I got into knives was one reason. I have fingers and I was forced.:D It's unbelievable how much time goes into making customs from start to finish but I can't think of anything I would have changed for our shop to still be here and running 10 years later.:)
