Just curious if anyone has had the USPS lose a khuk.

Terribly Sad, You will need to find a new DotD to try again with. My HIKV would be deadly by this point if I ordered one and it never showed. The withdrawls would have me shaking. :D

LaRue, I'd a rare experience during the time of UB whereby I only got the package containing villager's Khuks after three months just before it was shipped out of the country to be returned back to the sender (HI)! In my case I guessed the postal made a mistake by trying to send the package to the wrong address and then their reminders to collect the package also might be sent to the wrong address as well! Luckily the last reminder was correctly sent to me and I managed to grab it from Postal section in charge of returning packages back to overseas

I bought one from a private party and it was shipped USPS priority mail. The seller didn't pack it well and the chape punched a hole in the box.

When it got to me it was just an empty box...

I've bought a ton of kukris from Yangdu and they have all arrived safe and sound.

I did get one where the chape punched through as well, about half the blade in sheath could slip out but it was there and amazingly it wasn't damaged in the least. I'm surprised the mail people didn't throw some kind of fit but not a peep.

I felt very lucky in that instance.

Here's my story:

I ordered my first pair some time ago and after 2 weeks, they were still a no show. Yangdu was very responsive to my panicked emails and after the two weeks had passed, she sent me replacement blades. The very next day, I come home to a triangle box and a face of "no f***ing way" came over me. Long story short, they came after a good while, I bought one of the replacements off of Auntie and shipped the other back. The lesson: be patient no matter how painful.

If I had to say anything about the ordeal; getting a tracking number would be nice.

Worst I ever had was a weekend\substitute driver put the box on our front porch which at the time was unused and just a junk room. I followed up and found out it was delivered and figured some jerk had picked it up off the stoop.

A couple weeks later I went out on the porch and there it was. We have since renovated the porch so its usable, but I still check all doors if I'm waiting for something.
