Man, I love those racing stripes in that butterscotch micarta! Is it all the way through or just superficial marking?

It's a layer, all the way through. It's a Westinghouse marking. Some makers cut the scales so the stripes will be visible on the handle to prove what it is.

Luv this stuff! Can't wait to get my matching HDFK and EDC2!:)

that old skool micarta looks so nice. I'm not very picky usually wrt handle material, but that stuff hits the mark on every front proving you don't have to compromise on aesthetics in order to get a handle with longevity

I love micarta. That "antique" micarta sure is nice. I am wondering is there any other current producer of micarta that uses high industry standards, to produce micarta, that Westinghouse have used? Also, there must be still tones of old stock Westinghouse micarta out there, - right?

Antique micarta is just gorgeous. The really don't make it like that anymore.
My second choice would be a hard wood like desert ironwood, Cocobolo and Purpleheart.

Nope & Nope.

I've never seen so many different micarta patterns before...I wonder if some of those old patterns are still around? I see some patterns that look very much like the micarta that Nathan uses!

Itsnpossible. The houses on our street were built in 55-56 and one has original postformed counter tops. They look like Formica laminate tho.
I'm thinking the same. There's a worn down spot near the sink where the pattern is gone.
