Just dropped my knife and my heel caught it

Yeah... maybe.
One time the red stuff was leaking out, but I was having too much fun to waste in the ER, so I had my student nurse friend patch it up. She did a great job. But when I got around to going to the doctor, he said, "If you had come in right away, we'd have stitched it up. It's too late now, and you'll probably end up with a scar."

So if you haven't gone in to the doctor yet, you'll probably get a scar, and your aspirations to become a foot model are over.
Yeah I'm just going to use some of those butterfly bandages and the medical super glue stuff. I've got plenty of battle wounds over the years. I've got a story for every one of them 😂

Thanks for the kind words fellas...Just goes to show some of us men dont always do the smartest things. Thank goodness for our better half's, some of us may not have made it on this rock as long as we have lol.

Heal up quick, and don't be a heel to your wife!

I nearly lost a the end of my middle finger at the first knuckle from a knife closing on it. Ex-wife forced me to go to the hospital. It had been years since I had stitches. Turns out the doc was a bit of a knife guy and was carrying a Spyderco Leafstorm. If I hadn't been so far from home I would have a new buddy.

This was almost 9 years ago, and luckily I haven't had a bad cut since. Then again, I don't juggle bowies, and I stopped juggling cats long ago.

Heel wounds are no fun. Not a knife, but I had a section of my uncle's aluminum dock get me in the back of the heel while removing it for the summer a couple years back.. we had a support section unbolted from the others.. i had my back turned to it while working on unbolting another section.. my uncle's neighbor nudged the unbolted support piece and it fell into the water, clipping me in the achilles on its way down.. didn't even see it coming, and didn't really even feel anything more than like a "bump" on the back of my heel.. thought little of it really until my uncle noticed me bleeding everywhere. Fortunately, it didn't knick anything important and I could still walk alright; just left a nice flap of skin hanging.. ten stitches and about six weeks of wearing only crocs later, it finally healed up ok.

Hope your heel wound heals up nicely hvactech! Be patient, movement from walking can hinder the healing process; it may take some time, but you should be good as new soon enough.. also.. crocs are your friend.

Knife related..

You can see one of the sections that fell on me in the background. Hahah I still have a bit of PTSD over it and you can be d@mn sure I've known exactly where my heel is in relation to unbolted sections of dock every summer since! :p

My goodness I cringed as I read this and seen the picture. There's nothing worse when something dumb happens and it has you down for weeks. I appreciate the kind words

We're you going for a kick save? I tend to do that instinctively, but I am not sure if I can stop myself if it is a knife.
Too funny! I instinctively go into goalie mode whenever I drop something and think -- in slow motion -- as the item drops, "Is this gonna hurt?" A pleathora of tools/items over the years.

Drop a knife? Arms out, feet wide, give it all the time and room it needs to stop. Pick it up, check for damage, TRY not to do that again (especially at a gun show, when it's someone else's knife). Been there, done that.
I've been lucky, so far. It helps I'm usually in a pair of 16" lineman's boots, even at home.

'Cuz I KNOW I'm a dumb-ass.......!

I'm more of a 'Why can't we all just get a bong?' type guy. Different strokes, and all. Same danger to self!

I came frighteningly close to doing this with my brand new at the time Buck Pursuit Pro. Taking it out if the sheath to open a bag of feed, I just lost my grip on it. I don’t think I’d ever done that before, so of course I had to do it in front of family guests. Too bad nobody had a phone at the ready to capture what was surely an interesting foot dance I did that would have made Michael Flatly proud to avoid injury. Couldn’t do anything to avoid the nick it put in the floor, though. Not a scratch or ding on the blade, and that’s all that really mattered. 😂

You’re that guy in the John Wick movies that call to clean up the bodies arent you?
Hydrogen peroxide is a bleach, as in "bleached blonde". It gets rid of the red color of blood and is great for loosening things that are stuck together by dried blood, but it leaves traces of blood behind that are easily detectable on any police TV show. Hydrogen peroxide may also remove color from a carpet.

There are other methods that allegedly get rid of all traces of blood, but I won't say what they are because lots of LEOs here on BF might get mad at me.

And BTW, speaking of knives, I once caught a chef's knife having an 8 inch blade with my big toe. I was going to empty the dishwasher. When I pulled out the top rack, the knife fell out and the point went straight into the fleshy part of the toe. It did not quite go all the way through, so no damage to the floor.
