I've been mostly lurking here for a month or two, but I've made a few posts when I thought it appropriate, in the time I've been here it seems that this is a group of generally fairly intelligent, fairly well-educated common sense people, which isn't easy to find really.

Anyway. My wife and I have been married about 4 years and we've now decided (In the last few days) To start trying to have a baby. (Whee! Even the practice is lots of fun!) Dunno if anyone cares but the anticipation is great, even if it may take a year or two to succeed. :) Wish us luck.

My wife and I tried a couple years and then adopted a baby girl...it all works out one way or another! Good Luck!

as someone who tried for quite awhile and was rewarded with twin girls--
allow me to wish you the best of luck, and enjoy the practice.

Enjoy all the practice you can. Just don't get too good at it. For my second one, one try was all it took, and then, POOF! No more practice.:(

First child one shot, one pregnancy
second child, 3 shots and the job was done

Darn the luck!

Wish you luck on your future child support payment?!? Come on, I'm not that cruel.

But hey, have fun knocking the bottom out of it for free - while you can. :p

Success! About 8.5 months till Sryth is a daddy! :D

my goodness you could win the olympics with those swimmers.

Congrats man. :D

First try here too. Wife off the pill, condom box empty, and now we're expecting in May.

Wife's brother and his wife are having problems, and going to try artificial methods. I think they must be doing something wrong. Maybe I should sent them a video or something...

Good going Sryth!

You're doing better than we did. Our first came just shy of 7 months after the wedding. Try explaining THAT to your father-in-law!

Congratulations, I hope that the pregnancy and the birth are as easy and as much fun as the practice was.

It doesn't always end up this way, just usually.

With both of our sons, we chose not to find out what they were going to be. People would ask us, "Do you know what it's going to be?" Our answer, "We have narrowed it down to two possibilities, it's either a boy or a girl." We would get some strange looks in response.

Best of luck to you, this group could prolly help with name suggestions, 'though you might not like some of the offerings. :D

One serious suggestion. After the youngin' arrives, don't make any efforts to keep the house silent, especially during nap time. Play the TV, run the vaccuum, and the baby will learn to sleep through it all. Keep the house QUIET, and he or she will become a light sleeper, one very difficult to get to sleep in any other environment. I got this advice from a co-worker & followed it with both, & both are deep sleepers, regardless of sound level.

Last piece of advice... Follow the last part of Joshua 24:15 "But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD". A pretty good starting place.

Best of luck. Keep us posted

Rule #1: Make the baby sleep in the baby's room!
Rule #2: In case you are ever tempted to let the baby sleep in your room, See rule #1!

My wife and I have talked about many things of course. This is one of them, the baby will definately be staying in his/her own room. This is my second marriage, my current wife and I have been married 4 years and this is our first child, but my first wife and I were married about 3, she had a toddler when we got married. So I have a *little* experience, most of what I got out of that marriage was what *not* to do really. Was a hard few years, but the experience I got was worth it I think.
