I thought I'd do something I don't see very often these days and make a bowie where the edge doesn't drop down from the ricasso. I've seen pictures of older knives that are like this and a few newer ones but I don't see very many being made anymore.
It has a 9 1/8", 5160 blade, box elder scales, framed handle construction with lightly blued fittings. I'd love to hear some feedback. Thanks for looking!

I love that style of clip!
nice proportions and clean lines.
I personally would like some sort of taper to the handle or possibly scales that get slightly thicker towards the butt of the handle to limit slipping, but that's just personal preference.

Very nice Ray! Classic look. That corner on the false edge isn't that easy to do on both sides guys.

Thanks guys.. I really appreciate the comments. Here's the knife that inspired me. I don't know who made it. I saw this picture in another forum and it just made me want to make one. Also, here's a really nice Henry bowie with that classic look that you don't see very often anymore. Now I'm thinking I should have gone with a thicker guard. I never really liked thick guards but maybe it would have looked good on this one. Too late now.

I disagree Ray . I reckon the thinner gaurd looks way better, gives the whole deal a sleeker appearance. The thick gaurd on the damascus bowie just looks way, way wrong to me.
Cheers Bruce
