This is the 9th knife I made. It's been about 9 months since I finished my last one, just haven't felt like working on them. There are a few little mistakes, but I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. Tell me what you think. any critiques? I used 1084 steel and blued the blade. 4" blade, 9" overall. Handles are od green canvas micarta.

i like it, a little more belly than i put in my blades, but it looks good to me, i like the black of the blade with the od green, goes good together, IMHO
thank you for sharing

I love the handle, and the blued finish. I always wonder why more people don't go there with carbon steel blades, I think it's a very nice look

Great knife! The only thing I could really see is that there appears to be a sharp-ish angle on the top of the left scale towards the spine. I'm sure it could be removed with 2mins of sanding work.

Looks like it would make an awesome skinner. If that was what you intended I might ruin that beautiful micarta finish with some coarse sand paper to improve function/grip in bloody conditions.

I sanded the blade to 400 and used perma Blue paste. 4 or 5 coat using fine steel wool on the blade between coats.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't used the paste stuff, nor have I tried applying it with steel wool. Will have to try that method soon!

Looks good. On the next try a less projecting piece under the ricasso. ( read that as no projection) The projection will only get in the way in cutting and skinning, as well as make sharpening harder.
