how goes it folks... HAPPY HALLOWEEN..

i just finished this sheath up this morning....:)

Yesterday, i started to re-stitch the sheath for my breeden, Tyson bushcraft knife.. i had already gotten started, and i thought, why not just try and make another sheath, this time with a firesteel loop....

with a combination of the O1 steel and squared spine, this knife throws a shower of sparks from a firesteel..

i really like this knife design a lot... it is very comfortable and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine....

thanks for looking... any feedback welcome...:)

Mike,
That is a great looking sheath. I need one like that for my Skookum Bush Tool.:D

Again Great Job.

That's really nice, Mike. I love the fact that we have knife-makers and sheath-makers among us who can team up to make a very individualized "bit of kit." A lot of my stuff now has some extra value just becasue I "know" the guy who made it.

I like that knife too. I like too many knives.:o

WOW Mike that sheath really looks great. Did you hand sew it or do you have a machine.
I have thought about getting one of the leather sewing machines but the ones I have looked at price wise is around $1500 to $2000.

Anyways great job Mike.

bryan many thanks for the kind words...:D the sheath compliments the knife very well....

i do all of my stitching by hand....:o and yes my fingers hurt..:o i don't do enough volume in leatherwork, to justify a machine.... they're pretty nice..

Nice job on the sheath Mike, it looks great, as does all your leather work. What weight leather did you use, 7-8-9 oz? Is the fire steel loop the same thickness, or did you use a lighter weight leather for the loop?

Great sheath Mike. That is one fine knife too.

FWIW, I prefer hand stitching to machine stitching. You can see the machine foot "marks" on the leather and they never seem to go away. Plus, I will take a saddle stitch over a lock stitch any day

Very nice. I enjoy making sheaths and pics like this inspire me to keep at it. Curent project is a neck/belt sheath for my new BK11.
