Just finished this up....opinions? Are flats with mill scale finish ok.....or not?

I may as well thow in my <2cents. I personally like the flats to be forge finished contrasting with the grinds. I think the contrast should be strong though.........I wouldn't personally bead blast the mill scale off........maybe like was stated earlier, a heavy bead blast to contrast with the grinds would look good??

I think you blended unique design points into something different enough to be super cool. I tend to prefer a slightly longer & slightly deeper clip (they are gaining favor with me). The blunt straight clip like the kind Becker uses doesn't catch my eye. If that clip were maybe half way back on the knife my opinion is that the clip will have a sexier curve to set off the knife.

I like it, it is interesting to me. I am still getting use to this style of blade, in bowies, and knives like the Nessmuck, I am only comfortable viewing them on kitchen knives, but my taste in getting better. :D
