You caught it, the 303 is either a double shield or blades are wrong or shield on reverse side. Notice 310 has no shield on tang side either, from my oddballs drawer. Old photo, if you want to know for sure I will have to find them......Is just another example(s) of mass production parts are not always "pure". Buck use to make up extra part knives and give them to missionaries in Africa. Some never made it that far so you wonder if you get a oddball. For a time Buck would grind a divot out of the edge of the bolster so it wouldn't be sold. But, the collector's market knows no honor. Ha...... 300

What a great discussion. I am no expert. I can barely date a 110. But, I know enough to know this is not an early model. It has no brass, has a saber or hollow grind, moon/short nail nick, and looking at the first picture, 2 springs. It has to be of recent vintage.
 
Yeah........when they decide it's finally time to eat........some of them get too enthusiastic.
