I'd like to see a Buck 301 as the forum knife.
Either 5160 carbon steel or S30V blades.

This morning I'm cutting up some quarter inch saddle leather to size and out of all the super steel knives available to me nothing does a better job than Bucks 154CM. If you do go for a Buck imho most would be more than pleased with this steel.

With all respect, you should add Lion Steel to the poll. I do see option 5.

Thanks for bringing this up! I should have mentioned in my initial post, I only mentioned those three specific brands because they are the ones who have expressed interest in making the 2018 BF Traditional knife to our members.

I agree that Lionsteel would make a great forum knife, I just don’t know how realistic it would be for 2018.

Isn't that because they're the only ones who have been asked, or two of them have at least?

Probably! If I see that another brand has been contacted, and that they express interest in making the 2018 knife, I’ll happily add them to the polls and extend the poll run time! :)

I think it possibly makes it all a bit random ;)

Of course it's all just a bit of fun :)

a 303 with a long pull and 2 backsprings like the old camilus made ones would be so cool... Maybe with s30v blades?

Thought it might be fun to have this back on the first page in case anyone wanted to change their vote. :)

I'm digging the idea of a 2 blade 14 of some kind. Special bladeforums shield maybe, in addition to the tang stamp?

Bump - the poll is scheduled to close today

I think it’s best that any polling from here be taken on by the main players in this race. A lot has happened in the forum knife thread since I posted this thread and the options have been narrowed down considerably.

Agree, but in my opinion your poll still has value too.

Well I sure appreciate that. I will say that these tallies more or less mirror the sentiments continuing to be expressed on the forum knife thread. With the outlook for GEC forum knives being more limited than many would like, and the wide open possibilities of the buck knife option, it will be interesting to see how people vote in the real polls.

Personally I like the idea of a special #14, but I would certainly buy a Buck. I just appreciate the work everyone has already put in on the other thread!

I'm undecided because there's nothing to pick from to decide lol. I likely won't end up with a bladeforums buck knife, but hard to know because I don't know what they are offering. I think what I would need to sort out, does the increases cost of the knife over the base model make it worth it. For example, the last few years of bladeforums knives cost less than or equal to what you could buy them for under regular production - but they had better features in my opinion. I looked at some of the buck knives base model being mentioned and they are $50 give or take. Seems like we are going to end up with a $100 buck knife and for $100 I'm buying something else. I don't know - it's very confusing. I might change my mind. If we don't end up with 200 or more people buying the buck knife there will be no buck forum knife... I sort of feel like that is what will happen, but I'm a bad guesser.. that's why we have polls.
