Hope this post finds everyone well,
I know the thread was created with good humor intact. Do all I can not to take myself too seriously.
However, I find it interesting this Us Versus Them mentality. Everyone has their own opinions. The divisions I have witnessed on the forum are interesting. Plenty are created from those wanting to talk but have little to contribute. Most other divisions stem from preferences. Variety (in this highly expressive venue) is awesome, adds favor. But some do get their panties in a bunch. Many times it is over the smallest, most insignificant observations.
My adventure into the knife world started with slipjoints. Love them and would never abandon them!
However there are definitely some modern designs and various steels worth investigation. Now for me the mentality that is commonly attached (via stereotypes) with traditional versus modern is interesting. There are many none traditional knife owners that are not mall ninjas. Hard to believe but it is true. As there are many traditionalist that are not oppose to development. It would be more interesting if the mentality behind a creation was discussed. Lumping predefined packaging on another is tacky.
Now..I am not here to fight nor am I preaching. For the record, I have a real distaste for politically correct anything. I always encourage others to take whatever they want from my thoughts. Trash whatever is not appealing or deems itself unneeded. I have enjoyed reading many of the post, and have learned much from all of you. I wanted to put a few thoughts on the table for consideration.
Btw... tip up or tip down? Depends on the day. But when my Grand Daddy Barlow, Congress or Gunstock rides it depends on how it falls in the pocket. Oh, and it is really cool that some have found a clip not to be a necessity. It is what they make it to be. The clip (in truth) is only an option.
What a horrible way to treat that Case! You would have to be flogged if that was a Schatt & Morgan.
