Is that proto video the finished product as well?

Would the handle fit one of those smaller flint/magnesium sticks?

probably not. You may easily cord wrap one into the handle, perhaps on one side the ferro and the other magnesium if you wanted to keep it balanced. You could also get some smaller sizes from Storl too.
