Just found this "Buck Hood Punk

It went from a ten-inch blade to a five-inch blade.

My question was this: the Hood has a handle angle that seems designed for chopping.

So how does that angle work on a general purpose, five-inch knife?

It looks far different than say, the 105, for example. I think I would be uncomfortable trying to work with the handle angle as it stands on the Punk.

I saw the Punk advertised in the last issue of Ron and Karens' mag and it looks sweet. I've been busting my hump trying to get a Hoodlum through a trade, but no luck. Now this one I may consider just buying if it gets good reviews. And I don't know why Ron chose punk, but Hoodlum is what he calls his friends and fans on his forum. Thankfully they weren't calling them punks

To me the handle angle looks similar to other knives like the ESEE-4. I don't think it is necessarily meant for chopping.

I think the "Thug" is coming first. Then the "Skin Head" (it's a skinner). Then either the "Terrorist" or the "Assassin". But the "Sneaky Little Creep" is the next one up.

I'm just having fun with the names.

erm, if you don't like the coating or blade writing, strip the coating off. Not a hard fix, and you lose the parts of the knife you don't like and add to the appeal of the knife for you.

I like the shape of that one, but the price is a little high IMO... there are other, similar offerings available from other companies at half that price. Maybe if I can find one for a steep discount at some point, I'll pick one up and strip off the coating.

My wife just gave one of these to me for valentines day and I must say this is an amazing blade! The shape and handle are excellent and it is amazingly light! I use all my knives but this one is just so pretty I don't know if I can
