I absolutely love it!!!!!! I haven't bought a Buck knife in years and I decided it was time to get another, so I got the Mayo 172. My reason for getting it was an experience I had with Buck about twenty years or so ago. Let me tell you the story, when I was 10 or 11 years old, my daddy bought me one of the first runs of the Buck Lite(I still have it), I carried it and used it everyday. Well, one day I dropped it on a cement slab and broke the tip off. Daddy had my momma send it back to be fixed, Buck fixed it and never asked what happened, how it happened and they didn't charge for return shipping. That has always stuck with me and I have never forgot how great Buck was about the repair. What a great company!!! Well, years go by and I have had every knife from every company under the sun, from SAK's to Sebenza's, but I think I am going to stick with my Buck Mayo!!!! I'll pass it on to my boys. Thanks for letting me share my story!

That is a great story!!CONGRATULATIONS on th knife!!! I too have a Buck/Mayo TNT, and I absolutely LOVE it!! I love how low it sits in the pocket, and how smoooooooth it is to open. I like knives that I can open either right or left handed; and this is a knife that I can do that with.

Congratulations! You've got one of the best production knives made imho. I have 2 of them...one I modded a little. They are truly fine knives and the price these days for them is often a steal considering it is a titanium framelock with S30v heat treated by Paul Bos, designed by Tom Mayo and made by Buck. The hollow ground blade is a real slicer and they are easy to take apart and clean and reassemble without problems.
That Rocks!! Enjoy your TNT

I took it fishing today, the only thing I used it for was to cut a thread that was unravling on our boat seat! But I still had it with me. It has a really smooth opening and a SOLID lockup. I like the weight, you never even know you have it in your pocket. The only thing I could complain about is that it is a little small for my hand, but I used to carry slipjoints, so that isn't that big of deal. I would recommend it to anyone!!! Maybe one day I can get a Mayo TnT!! :D

thanks for the kudos...........one of the nicest compliments I have ever gotten is that Chuck Buck carries one of these in his pocket!!!! :D
