Just got a fire piston any one else?

This thread inspired me to order my first fire piston. Got mine from ebprimitives. Fast shipping. Generous guy. Got a bunch of stuff with the order. Big bag of cedar mulch, a bunch of char cloth bricks, one more tinder box than I ordered, both ready to go, a lifetime supply of extra gaskets. Two little tubs of wax based lube. cleaning rod, and a very functional--but not fancy--hardwood bodied fire piston.

It fired the very first compression. Great deal for under fifty dollars with shipping. I recommend this guy without hesitation.

Don't be tempted to use black powder, not even a little bit. This is what we call a "rocket"!!

Dammit. Now I really want to see what that would look like :D

No sir. Not me sir. :p That is like one of those famous last words of a redneck "Hey Ya'll! Hold my beer and watch this!!"

I prefer the traditional designs and have both wooden and horn pistons from Wilderness Solutions.

They are absolutely incredible - works of art. I have been able to light things like rotten punk wood and I carry one whenever I go to the woods now.
