Well I'm very please with the knife and the way it's built, but the paramilitary I got doesn't seem to be very sharp. It cuts paper well but cant shave the hair off my arm. Also, the blade opening and closing is not very smooth. You can here a slight gritty noise when opening and closing. Could I gave gotten a fake?

Where did you buy it from? Better pictures of the top jimping, cuttout around the lock (specifically the upper cut out), and the milling on both sides of the liners. My Jimping is more angled, my upper cutout is more smooth, my liners are milled on both sides.

I bought it from a guy in Virginia. All he sells are knives on eBay. Had like 30000+ feedback with 100%.

That is still tough to tell. I don't like the jimping on the spine. Mine is way more angled. If I were you I would watch a bunch of videos on the subject. Once you have that knowledge it will be easier to tell with knife in hand.

Looks like the real deal to me. It's possible that someone used it at some point and dulled the factory edge. No big deal - you gotta figure out your sharpening technique for it eventually anyway. But, if you're truly concerned after more research, then send it to Spyderco - they can verify if it's legit, and they can even put the factory edge back on it for you for about the cost of shipping. Let us know how it works out...

And WELCOME to the Forum!

The fake I received had screws without the recessed area around the torx and the blade was very stiff. The blade wouldn't even drop without pushing on it. Also I think my jimping looked much more conspicuous than yours.

I have had a couple compared to mine (although mine were/are both DLC) it looks legit. Probably just needs to be sharpened. Sometimes they are a little stiff at first, once it breaks in you should be good to go.
