Just got a Rat 1

I really like it. I think I paid 27.00. Im very happy with it. I have a hard time leaving it closed.
 
I was disappointed when I received mine, as I didn't realize just how big it actually was. Now I'm used to the folder filling my hand and my older folders seem tiny in comparison. I'm very happy with mine, and think you will be just as happy with yours, too.
 
I've handled both and have a pink Rat II floating around the house that is normally beat upon and can say I prefer the Rat II. Hopefully the Rat goes the way of Cold Steel g10 and a better steel e.g. cts-bd1, aus-10, dare I say vg10 or 154cm would be a grand improvement.
 
I had a Rat 2 before and sold it and I regretted it instantly. My Delica had replaced it as my work carry. Since I picked up another Rat 2 the Delica has been collecting dust. That says a lot of my opinion of the Rat because the Delica is awesome.
 
I haven't tried the Rat 2 yet but the Rat1 is great. Everyone who checks it out, ends up wanting one.
 
Yesterday I ordered my 3rd Rat I - a black/black - for $21.87 shipped. Too good to pass up. I love budget-priced knives that rock, and the Rat I & II fit the bill.

Budget knives that rock - years ago they were few and very far between; today, there are significant values to be had and the RAT-1 (and 2) being high on that list.

This is a great time to be into knives and knives like the RATs are among the reasons.

I just got my rat 1 today- I love it, but it locks up pretty late. It is rock solid now though with no play- I am just wondering if it is something that i should be worried about, maybe possibly lock rock in the future if it gets worse?
 
The Rat 1 has to be about the only exception to the rule "you get what you pay for". It costs just over $20 on amazon or walmart, yet is as good as folders costing 3-5 times more. Can't be beat for value.

This does speak very highly of the Rat 2. The Delica is a great knife, but the Rat 2 has pretty much all of the positives of the Delica for half the price.

Since the lock is steel on steel, I wouldn't worry about this too much. Plus, for the price of the Rats, just use it until it wears out and then get another one.

Funny you say that. I just got a Rat-2 and my initial impression is that it feels better in my hand than my Delica-4.
