Just got a Spin

I've been wanting this little jewel for a long while now. I found one for a great price and could resist no longer! Mine just arrived today and it's a superb little folder: Super scary sharp and incredibly solid. It locks up tight and the blade folds confidently into a detent. It is very comparable lengthwise, and weight-wise to my SS Ladybug 3.
This knife is a keeper.

I love this little guy, its a real knife. Built like a little razor blade, locks up like a vault. The blade is dead centered when its closed, much like a custom knife. No wiggle at all, up down or side to side. Also opens very smooth, takes a hell of an edge. Whats not to like?

With a small lanyard you will use it alot more than you ever thought.
 
Thanks for the pic and all the positive input. I've got several different colors of paracord I've been considering for a lanyard (but I don't have orange, which I just knew would look good on this!). I'll post a pic or a link to a pic when I put mine on. BTW, I had no idea that there was ever a Spyderetched Cricket. Is that a custom?

ummm, i thought all the production Spin's were laser etched :confused:
 
Dare I say this...

Out of my Caly 3, Delica 4, Copilot, Cricket, Spin, and Ladybug........

My Spin Etched is my favorite knife.

The blade i SO sharp. FFG + super slim + VG10 = razor. There is TONS of grip. It fits anywhere. It looks amazing. The fit and finish is tops, and it doesn't attract any negative attention. Not to mention you can draw and open it faster than most large knives.

I keep it in my front right pocket with a little lanyard most days. Sometimes I let it lay there with my Caly 3 clipped to the pocket. That's a fearsome combo.

Wow, quattro- that etched Spin looks awesome! I didn't realize how good they look until I saw your photo.
I'm glad to see so many people admire this little jewel.
 
I Snagged an etched Spin a few weeks ago here in the exchange and made the mistake of leaving it on my desk while I was out and my Wife found it and has taken ownership of it. So just the fact that she likes it and is toteing it around is a Testiment to it's Appeal.

Wow, Brian you are having an off day. One out one pharmacists recommend you obtain some Java recommended coffee post haste!

Not only did he ask about the Cricket while you responded about the Spin, but you were wrong about the Spin too. Don't forget the newer version of the Spin that is also in this thread. ;)

Jedi, there used to be an internet dealer who paid Spyderco to etch several different SS Spydercos. I've seen the Cricket, the Police, the Endura, and the Delica all etched.

You can have a custom etching from Spyderco as well, but I believe the set up is at least a $50 fee.

yeah, you're right zenh .... I've obviously built up a tolerance to caffeine....taurine in the redbull has also "lost its efficacy"... I need to switch to Bawls or some form of guarana ;):yawn:

quattrokid73: thanks but forumite Ghostrider tied that lanyard which I purchased from him a year or so ago....you could PM him on spydercoforums but i'm not sure if he's tying them/selling them anymore :confused:
 
I got a Spin nearly 2 years ago, and it became my favorite knife from day 1! Would be wicked cool to have one custom etched!
 
Well, here's what I decided on. This is one of my favorite styles- although I'm sure others use something similar I haven't seen a lot like it around.




Once again, what a terrific knife! BTW sorry for the thumbnail- tried to post a decent picture but it was way too big and not as nice as the other ones here anyway.
