Just got a Temperance, no tec-lock though.

I just bought a Spyderco Temperance, and this is an awesome knife. Incredibely sharp, very comfortable to hold, a very nice design.

Unfortunately, it didn't come with the tec-lock to fasten it to my belt or waistband. Is there anyway I can buy a replacement tec-lock, or modify some other belt clip to fit on it, or will I just have to use some 550 cord to make a belt loop?

I only paid $49 for the knife, so I don't really want to go too crazy on the belt clip.

If nobody comes up with a definitive answer, you might want to give Blade-Tech a call, and find out the hole spacing on both sizes. One or the other has to work with the holes in the Temperance sheath. My guess would be the small, since the large seems like overkill for a relatively small FB knife, and the small seems to be what Spyderco used on the Perrin Street Bowie which is about the same size, but that's just a guess.

I would be willing to bet that you could get a great sheath for the fixed blade Temperance at "River City Sheaths". Mike Sastre the owner of the company frequents here on Bladeforums quite a bit.

I've even considered trying an aftermarket sheath for one of mine.

I do like my TEK-LOK sheath that came with it but I wouldn't mind checking out another type of sheath for it. JD
