We had such a great time last weekend I'm not sure where to start. I guess by saying a great big THANK YOU to Yvsa, Barb, Bill and Yangdu. I really appreciate all you have done to make these last couple of days something we will never forget.
It was really good to meet everyone who showed up and the ones who couldn't be here were dearly missed!!!! And the ones who showed
up are the ones that made the khonvention what it
was.
Barb, Uncle Bill, Yangdu and myself were just the hosts and hostesses.
Chris and his lovely wife, Dave and Ruel, T-Bone and his lovely wife Sandi with their kids and T-Bone's dad Phil, Hawk and his lovely wife, Merle "The Squirrel" Malek and Cheryl, Gregg, Polly and Robert for a little while, and of course Uncle Bill and Yangdu and Barb and myself. Merle brought Billy down on Sunday along with Dave and Ruel.
I hope I didn't leave anyone out!!!!
Anyway as has been said, "It was more like a family," that liked one another, that had gotten together instead of people that were strangers meeting for the very first
time.
The youngens were all polite beyond what one expects these day, not really surprised at that, wonder why

, and were always ready to lend a hand.
We ate lots of finger food and then I had forgotten to start the charcoal for the grill and I got one of "those looks" from Barb when her and Chamaine got back from picking up Uncle Bill and Yangdu, but the ribs were still done on time***.

Unlike the khonvention in Reno we didn't start shutting down until around 11:00 p.m.
And now everyone else knows what a good cook Barb is as everyone ate until they were stuffed.
We had Ribs, BBQ sauce on the side, Baked Beans, Potato & Macaroni Salad for the main meal.
Before that there was generous relish trays with all kinds of goodies piled on the trays along with the chips of course.
Yangdu was really impressed with the home made Salsa that Barb and me makes.
Yangdu was really surprised when my nephew Robert showed up and ate 3 Three!!! Habenero Peppers straight from the jar.
I had bought them just to try a little while back and eat one once in a while to keep the plumbing cleaned out.
Yangdu ate only one of those and kept exclaiming how Robert ate 3 of them.

And I ate one with my dinner. Realy good on the Ribs!!!!

The reason the ribs were still done on time is because of the charcoal starter we use.
You can have hot coals ready to cook in about 40 minutes and without the smell and taste of charcoal lighter fluid and the big fire the starter fluid makes.
Much safer this way, and I know Harry would approve.

It's a chimney made by Weber and the trick is to put some briquets on the fire grate itself and then place the chimney over them filled with charcoal.
When the single piece of newspaper, under the chimney, lights the briquets in the chimney it gets hot enough to light the ones below as well.
You can almost double the amount of coals by doing it like that.
Another "Old Indin Trick" and remember you saw it here first.
