Wow this knife is beautiful, unfortunatly, it won't fit in the BM sheath I also bought with it, $8 wasted, not even sure it's worth trying to get my money back by returning it.
 
Well, congrats on the 710! I have a 710HS with a plain edge, and it's a terrific knife.

Probably doesn't pay to send the sheath back. I guess you're just going to have to order a smaller knife to fit in it. :p

The 710 is a great classic Benchmade. We'll look back and remember the 710 and think about Benchmade before it moved to Taiwan and made knives for convenience store displays.
 
I just got my 710 a few days ago (the 154cm version, I hate coated blades), and yes, it is a beautiful knife. I've always been fascinated by it's flowing lines... and it's one of those knives that looks as good closed as it does open.

I'd say just go ahead and keep the sheath, I'm sure you'll find a use for it, and pocket carry the 710. It's not as heavy in the pocket as it feels in the hand.

I've had it for three days now, and it's a winner.
 
I wouldn't think so, just use it, and it'll be fine. :cool:

I'm guessing you picked up a BM sheath? I use a small to carry my Prybaby, not sure what size you got.
 
I got the small BM sheath, I bought it cause it said inside dimenions were 5" x 1.65" and the knife is only like 4.8" by 1.4", it will fit in the sheath but because of the thickness it makes the useable length of it way less. I'm not even sure the large BM sheath would work its only 1/4" longer and the velcro closure top on the small one is off by a good 1/2" or more.

EDIT: haha I'm an idiot, the BM sheath doesn't even fit through my belt. Oh well
 
i just bought the last bm-710hs knife from 1sks.

i called for availibility and they said they had one.

bought it on the spot and am expecting it tomorrow =-D
