  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Not too bad, IMO. At some point I may polish it up some and then redo it. The grinding is still quite visible, and I'm sure that affects the look of the blade. However, for now I'm happy. I'm not one to get caught up on aesthetics. I ended up tumbling it in a 5 gallon bucket with river rocks and WD40.

tumbling media is a science unto itself....When, in the dark mists of earliest times I made climbing equipment I used a variety of home brew tumblers but I bought the tumbling media.....Little ceramic sharpening stones they were and we used a non foaming detergent.........It might be a good Idea if you want to do this again to contact a local polishing company and beg some old stones or buy a few pounds........PVC and a dryer?? clever......I spent a LOT of effort building a tumbler out of a 30 gal drum....The noise was so bad even after the "sound proofing" job that we would start it as the last person left the building at night........The "stones" came in different grits.......

All best......

I think you're right. Proper tumbling media would help a lot. I have at least two 15's in my future that will be stripped and tumbled, and I think I'll go that route with them.

Thank you!
