Just got my first Busse from UPS about an hour ago, a Tan/Black on Black TGLB.

I really like it so far, but it totally refuses to go into the kydex sheath I had made for it :(... The handle/scales especially refuse to go in.

I don't know if the sheath is too small, or if the knife and handles are too thick, can anyone give me a reading on their overall handle thickness ? The thickest spots I could find on my scales is at the front hollow pin at 1.0310 and the middle pin hole where it peaks at 1.0375

My blade thickness comes out smack on .2665. it's stays at a pretty consistent thickness until about 1 inch from tip "3rd pic below" where is goes down to 2.655

Other than that sheath fitting issue It's a gorgeous hunk of swine shaving steel and I love it! :D

Now all I've got to do is get my sheath sorted out and find someplace, or maybe someone to thin out my edge on the tglb and I'm all set... The edge thinning will have to wait a few weeks though, I'm now a tapped out very poor little bastard :grumpy:

While I was waiting all these weeks for the TGLB to arrive I grabbed some Kin which added a 2nd Rodent 6 , a RMD and a SwatMD into the mix "don't have the swat yet"

if it wasn't overcast and thundering it's ass off all day I could have got some decent in the woods or creek bed pictures of the new goodies.

My batteries died in the canon after the above pictures so feel free to enjoy the lovely poor lighting s6 cellphone pic of the knives in the meantime :-\ "obviously, this is just not my day for taking pictures"

Try heating the sheath with a hair dryer and insert it? One of the kydex guys should be along shortly with solutions

You could send the sheath and knife back to the Kydex sheath maker --- they might even agree to eat the shipping cost of sending it back out to you . . . Or you can try to remold the Kydex yourself.

I'm sure the maker will fix the issue with no problems he's well known and does great work. I'm not "unhappy" or mad or anything I just needed to check and make sure it wasn't that the knife was too fat vs sheath too small.. I tried a hair dryer and heat gun and it's a little easier but it's still a hard shove to get the blade in there but the scales seem waaaaay to fat to go in

loving the knife though. it's not the biggest knife I've "ever" had but it's currently the biggest I own.

Can't tell in the pic, but did you have liners added to the handle? I have liners on one of my Busse knives and forgot to let the sheath maker know this info. That little bit of thickness from the liners made it a super tight fit on the handle to the point it almost wouldn't work. Its loosened up a bit now though

*Edit: Never mind, it doesn't look like you have liners

Awesome TGLB man...you'll fix that problem in no time....now time for some beauty marks. Great combo choice, looks sweet!

The only kin I've gotten around to heavy use on so far is a rodent 6... then i went out and bought a shiny new one to keep it company

That love you feel inside for that chunk of INFI grows more every time you use it. I am only speaking my opinion though. But as some will say....and to quote timmy, ......"No Safe Queens".....Congrats on a great purchase dude.

Congats Stealth

I have my first on the way (a SWAT as well). Was glad to see I wasnt the only green player,...till I clicked on the thread, saw you had three, w/ one on the way...so, yea..I now hate you:D

Nice scores, great timing on the TGLB..Good luck, very nice family already. See you on the boards...(great...another guy to do the "Ill take it" battle with;))

If it is the kryptek sheath it appears to be a sheath for hand smoothed g10 not magnum g10. That makes a huge difference

I hit it hard with the hair dryer to soften it up and when I did manage to force it into the sheath the indent that locks into the hollow pin hole won't quite reach . So will need to mail the sheath + knife back to him and have him tune it up.

probably fixable I doubt it's going to be a complete re-build. But with a small press and a hair dryer + heat gun there ain't much I can do on my end

Wow!! Ordered that just in time:eek: I almost didn't buy one because of all the anoying walking dead buzz but I'm so glad I got one.. this knife is SO versatile, comfortable, an goes with me almost everywhere..bummer about the sheath but congrats on one hell of a blade!!

I think busse just sent me a fat girl. Instead of ordering her clothes online she has to be sent to be plus size tailored.

It is magnum, all tglb came standard with magnums.

Didn't know that. I didn't like the thick handle at first after being a heavy rodent 6 user "have 2 of them" but after awhile I started liking it. Maybe when it comes back I'll take it out and do so field work with it and see what it can do.
