Just got my Harsey T2 Tactical folder

I looked it over real close and the fit is pretty good. I worked up the edge with my Lansky setup at 25. When I checked the edge from the factory, it was set at 30. So I cut everything down to 25, and I used the white ceramic hone (1000 grit), the black arkansas (1400 grit), and then the synthetic sapphire stone (2000 grit) to polish out the edge. I'm fairly hairy, and it was shaving ALL the hair off my arm. The blade is made from CPM-S30V, and I have to say that I've never seen the likes of the fine powder residue that came off the stones and blade. It's kind of like a fine black flour mixed in the honing oil. Like Talmadge says, it's scary sharp. As time goes on, I'm going to take a hard look at some of the Strider folders. I can already tell that I like the clip better than the Benchmade 910 and 9100 that I have. Another thing is that the grip is much more secure on the T2. It just seems to be a more serious folder to be sure. The fact of it is that the S30V takes a sharper edge than the 154CM. I carefully read the Steel FAQ that Joe Talmadge wrote, and it helped me decide on a higher quality blade. When I looked at the edge under a lighted magnifying glass, it is obvious that the steel is harder and more polished. Anyways, these are first impressions, and I'll post something after carrying it for a while.

I like the looks of this knife too and, am thinking about adding one to the family. I wish it was a frame lock in lieu of a liner lock but, I guess we can't have everything we want. The blade looks very good and, as you said, it feels very nice in the hand.

Is it the large or smaller one?
I'm drooling over the big one myself ,but have no where in Ontario to handle one!!

I really liked mine, I traded it and others for a SNG, but I really liked it, and it was pretty nasty sharp. Hope to hear more about yours.

I'm a big fan of Mr. Harsey's designs and this is absolutley no exception to that rule. But, I wish they made the Harsey Tactical in one more size, slightly smaller than the T2. I'm thinking this design would make a great EDC with a 4" handle and 3" blade.

I love mine. It has the cocobolo handles but I am having some custom micarta scales made for it. Came scary sharp and still is after a few months of medium use. Even used it to carve a bow and drill set and it was still shaving sharp after that. Best feeling folder I have ever handled. It rides high, which is good for me because it makes it easy to get in a hurry. Clip holds on tight, but does not catch on other things when rubbed against them. Only downfall is it can rust easily so keep on top of that, keep it oiled and you should have no problem. Just dont take it where it is going to get really wet. One hell of a knife, I am surprised that not too many people talk about them here. Oh well. Enjoy

Max, your wish looks to be coming true.... watch for lonewolf to introduce some new ones soon. If you are at SHOT then you might see them.

I bought a Lone Wolf T2 Harsey about a month ago. I am really impressed with this knife. The QC looks good and the blade is fantastic. The blade is centered and locks up well. It is a very easy and smooth opening knife, but exhibits NO blade play. I wish they used G10 instead of FRN on the handles, but that's a minor gripe for this knife.

Hello other Wade! :) Have you had rust problems with your T2? If so, where?

Howdy,
Yeah a little, light spots over the whole blade. But I also had it my pocket in a downpour rain for three days. So it was wet for a very long time. I had to send it back to Lone Wolf for lock adjustment and they polished the blade for me. Now I just keep it oiled. I want to get a 'Sentury Solutions' rag and use that on it. Anyone else have a little rust problem with these?
Wade

No rust but a little up/down play pushing the lock tab out a hair when pressing down on spine of the blade. Dont know how this developed as I only had it since Xmas and haven;t put it through hard use yet. I may send it in. How long did they take to turn it around?

I can see the prolonged exposure to moisture being a problem, especially since the T2 has a bead blasted type of finish, although it's very smooth, it's probably not going to be as rust resistant as a satin or mirror finish blade.

I'll wipe it down with a Tuf cloth now. :) I have been using the Sentury Solutions rag aka Tuf cloth on my BM710 with M2 steel for 6 years and I haven't had any rust issues.

Someone else has a problem like this, but found it was due to a build up of debris, like pocket lint. You may have already checked for this or have cleaned the knife, but I just thought I'd pass this info along. :)

Thanks but I already stripped it down and rebuilt 2x. Cant understand it. Also noticed a tiny burr from when the downward force moves the tab to the outside and it looks like it may be wearing unevenly.

Check out lonewolfs website and you will see the new t-1 and the t-2 automatic. I just got back from SHOT show and got to handle both of these. They are incredible. The t-1 carbon fiber is great and will be available soon.

OMG, it's like Christmas and my birthday came in Febuary this year. And if the MSRP listed on their website is accurate then they are very affordable and today may just be like my best day.

Are the serrations the only new difference between 1 and 2's ? Besides handle choices I mean.
