brings back memories...last time i held a machete was when i was 10 or so on my uncle's farm in the province during summer vacation. myself and a bunch of my cousins running around the sugar cane field with machetes. the only thing my uncle told us was don't forget to stop-by the store for gin and smokes on the way home or grandma will be pissed :D ah, the good ol' days of being a kid in a 3rd world country.

...more on next post.

there's a clear coating on the sharpened edge that i wasn't expecting. imacasa probably knew these blades were going to the u.s. hence coated it to prevent patina to keep the sissy americans from noticing a speck of rust under a microscope and complain that it's defective

one thing i would've liked is a strap to retain it inside the sheath...yeah, yeah, i know it's a machete and it's designed to be always held with the hand. but i'm in north america so chances are high it'll be in the sheath most times. no biggie, a bungie cord works fine in a pinch.

a spare molle back works even better. if i like it i'll epoxy it in place for a more permanent solution.

can't wait to take it out this weekend. there's a couple of un-maintained trails where i've never been in. this will come in handy.

thanks for looking,

nice pic, got the lite, will receive the junglas this week.

Did you dyed black the handle of the junglas on those pics ?

i love my lite machete, but every time i see the junglas, i feel like something's missing in my life.

WOW! I knew it was bigger, just not how much bigger. I am definitely going to have to get me one of those ASAP!!

Permanent marker, I believe he said about his Junglas.

Also, it makes the Junglas look small x.x

I hope it wasn't marker! That stuff will go purple on you with time (and sun exposure.) RIT dye would probably be a better option--a lot of folks have had stellar success with it.

Thanks for the pics! Can't wait to get a Lite Machete.

After some research, because I wanted to find out myself, I found this quote..

in case anyone is wondering, i used a sharpie to color the micarta black. it shipped with the standard micarta color.

yes, you are missing something! i've batoned the junglas through 5" logs and it was a piece of cake. the machete i'd be very wary of using it on anything other than clearing twigs and overgrowth - it's a machete after all. i know, i'm not helping...just go buy one. it's like band-aid, the faster you click on the order button the less it'll hurt :D

sharpie.

i have rit dye but too lazy to use it on my scales. if it turns purple no biggie, i have a lot of sharpie.

I'm thinking a Lite w/ orange G10 scales myself :D

orange would be sweet. that's my 2nd color choice. i just don't like the natural color of micarta. it looks like wood which i don't like with my tools.

It's nice to see a member posting pics of his knives instead of just talking about what he has.

Thanks.

^ nice collection :)

maybe Jeff and crew will offer handle choices down the road- high vis orange would be quite handy IMO

Excellent post bro....
I with ya on the sheath retension on the lite machete......I think on using my molle back as you did or my bungee cord from the RAT pouch ? going to tinker with that this weekend

That’s what I’m thinking TTD. Might take my shock cord from my pack kit, loop it through the belt loop on the Lite sheath, the tie a small loop at the end of the shock cord that I can hook over the pommel of the Lite.
