Just bought a MUDD off BF Supposedly was NIB condition. Get it in the mail it was covered in like a lint type substance. Blade was all nicked up not sharp. lock button is all scraped up coating is almost off of it, pocket clip wasnt even attached thumb stud is all scrathed up. The knife looks like it was thrown off a cliff. I paid 120 for it pretty good deal for a MUDD i thought. Its a awesome knife jsut wish it really was NIB like it said. BUt it does seem to be a durable knife. I had to find a extra torx layin around and put it in to hold the pocket clip threw a little loctite on it.

One question as well, the pocket clip on the MUDD isnt it supposed to have like a little glass breaker type tip on the top of the pocket clip? cause this one doesnt have it even though it wasnt even attached. Just curious.

What do you guys think of the MUDD

I'm sorry to hear that. Mine doesn't have nearly that much wear and I'm trying.

They changed the clip design to something lower-profile. I prefer that way, too.

I really like the knife. It's super solid and easy to clean. I really appreciate the sealed pivot/lock.

I'd touch it up then use it hard. Soon you'll forget the scratches and just appreciate how well it works.

This is one of the few knives I have no intention of re-handling. This is because I want to use it hard without worrying about appearance.

Yea i am going to use it for EDC or utilty purposes and will get banged up . Its jsut dissapointing to tell someone its NIB and it comes messed up like that. But it does seem solid and awesome hard use knife.

But one thing how dies the lock work?

And i like the low pro pocket clip myself just didnt know if it came with it or not.

Thanks for the feedback though

That is an answer I would expect in W&C. I never get answers like that in the Kershaw forum. Never.

Well, you did tonight. I think Gaj had a legitimate reason to respond the way he did. You've been causing quite a stir lately, and a question like that just seems like it's asking for more trouble. If it was sincere, then so be it, but I'd be leery too after this past week.

Post the purchase page (which you saw it) in the 'for sale' section into 'the good, bad and ugly' section. People need to be informed about acts like this.

If it happened to you then it will sure happen to someone else...

I’ll do my best to redeem myself. And that is NOT a smart aleck reply.

I can only assume the OP was referring to the Exchange forum. It's imposible for a new guy to know. Especially when no mention of any seller or other information is provided. It threw me off because others have done this too. I would think a name of those who rip off customers is appropriate.

What you should do if it was sold as NIB (before you go to G B & U) is tell the person you bought it from and ask to return it.
That is if you feel you would like the money back.
If you are going to suck it up and keep it, I wouldn't post negative about a member.
I've bought and traded for a few knives that weren't as nice as represented. (none as badly as your MUDD)
One I got was represented as near mint and the blade had a lot of fine scratches on both sides, while disappointing they wasn't really noticeable unless you looked closely.
I just chalked it up as one of those things and didn't consider it worth making a fuss over. But, if it was as bad as yours I would have asked to return it.

I wont mention names or info until i talk to the seller to see what happens if it doesnt get resollved i will post info ,but i am not going to be a negative bully or jump the gun. Trying to be fair. But if it is not resolved i will deff let you guys know.

Thanks for the feedback guys

I would definately contact the seller. For another $25.00 you can a brand spankin' new one from NGK!

The MUDD is everything, plus a little more, that you have seen written!!:D:thumbup: But it would be nice to open the box to a brand new one. Hope everything works out!!:D

yea it would be nice to have a brand new one and paying $120 thats what i had expected. but other than that this knife is a rock. Deff a durable solid folder. Probably will end up having multiple of these. ZT makes great products

Fair enough, I can accept that. The OP already addressed this, but to reiterate, I assumed from the original post that he was looking for some info and feedback from the community before posting negative info on the forums. It's good to get some opinions before naming names, and if he were to go that far if he felt it was warranted, the place to actually do that would be "The good, bad, and ugly" forum, not here in the Kershaw sub.

DH, I'm not trying to put a damper on your right to make posts here, but as a self proclaimed "new guy", I would advise that you spend a bit more time learning by reading rather than typing. Not trying to be condescending here, just helpful. This is an extremely friendly and informative group of people as long as you let them be. Look before you leap;), and enjoy!

Cheers,
Jon

Simple,I'd returned it as soon as I seen the condition it was in,and NEVER buy or trade with that individual again. That's inexcusable.

As said previously, this should be in TGBU.

The vast majority of the guys and gals on BF are top notch folks! Hopefully you have better luck on the exchange forums in the future!
